L'homme Magnifique

Today on Sartorialist there were quite a few fetching fellas to daydream about. This is not to say that my hubby doesn't have style. He does in his own Skateboardy kind of way, which is also to say that he is pretty darn cute in my book. But there is no denying that men in other countries, including the country of New York City, have a distinct look. The boys abroad tend to be so stylish, unique, masculine and very sexy. Not even my favorite city SF can make such claims about its men. The few men in Los Angeles who are fashionistas are outnumbered by an army of Audigier. Perhaps because they are so rare, I really love seeing men explore their fashionable sides. I don't know that I'd like to be involved with a man like that, but they sure are fun to look at.

Heev Ho to the Hive

Today I tore down a wasp nest growing at a rapid rate under my garage awning. The wasps were long and scary and the paper hive was dangling like a Christmas ornament (ok, maybe more like a small earring). I knew I had to get it down quickly before it got so out of hand I would need professional help. I wore my safety gear (a jean jacket) and used a specialized tool (a broom). I had to be decisive (not my strong point) and run up to it and tear it down. It took me several attempts, and my mom wrapped in her own bee gear (a beach towel) watched me from inside the house.I finally tore it down and ran faster then I have ever in my whole life. The wasp was so mad, she was buzzing around for a while looking for her nest. I had to go back out and spray some repellent (Shout stain remover) in the area. Finally, she got the hint and moved on. I hope my improvised repellent works and they hate the smell enough (Meadow Fresh).
